As the spouse of a veteran, she brings both professional expertise and personal understanding to her work with military members and their families.
Christy’s counseling approach is client-centered, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practices. She believes each individual brings inherent strengths, resilience, and meaning into the counseling space. When aligned with client preferences, she thoughtfully integrates faith and spirituality as supportive resources, honoring the role they may play in healing, hope, and personal growth.
She works alongside clients to identify goals, build self-awareness, and develop practical strategies that support emotional wellness, healthier relationships, and lasting change. Christy emphasizes a strengths-based framework, helping clients recognize effective coping skills, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, and reduce behaviors that may interfere with growth. She also encourages intentional self-care and balance as essential components of overall well-being.
Over the past ten years, Christy has provided individual, family, and group therapy in a variety of settings, including home-based, school-based, community-based, and traditional outpatient clinical environments. She works with adolescents and adults across the lifespan and values creating a safe, supportive space for clients from diverse backgrounds.
Her clinical areas of focus include trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, anxiety, ADHD, mood disorders, and relationship challenges. Christy also has extensive experience working with individuals and families involved with the Department of Child Services, as well as those navigating parole and probation systems.
Christy is passionate about walking alongside individuals during seasons of stress, transition, and healing, helping them build resilience, clarity, and practical tools for growth. Her goal is to support clients in moving toward healthier, more balanced, and meaningful lives—honoring their values, beliefs, and goals throughout the counseling process.

Shelby strives to create a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel safe to explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences at a pace that feels right for them. She approaches counseling from a holistic perspective, honoring the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—and recognizes faith as a meaningful source of strength, hope, and healing for many individuals.
